BRIXLEGG COPPER REFINERY - KOVOHUTY, A.S. IN KROMPACHY

Since 2002, Montanwerke Brixlegg AG has also had a copper refinery with Kovohuty, a.s in Krompachy in Slovakia, which has 260 employees. Kovohuty, a.s. in Krompachy is also a recycling business, producing around 30,000 tonnes of anode copper a year from secondary raw materials. Further processing into cathodes takes place at Brixlegg.

Production of continuous cast wire rods was resumed in Krompachy in 2007. In 2009 around 36,000 tonnes were produced, with a diameter of 8 mm. In further processes our customers draw these wires into diameters they require for applications in the wides imaginable range of products.
